Welcome to The Fountain Medical Centre Online

The Covid-19 vaccination programme has begun. When it is your turn to be vaccinated the NHS will contact you, you will be told where to go for your vaccine and how to book this. The practice has no further details regarding this and will be unable to advise you further - please do not contact us regarding this.

In line with expert guidance, the first priority for vaccinations is care home residents and staff, those over the age of 80 and frontline health care workers. We understand a lot of people want to be vaccinated and would like to reassure you this will happen. Please be patient and wait to be contacted.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your patience and support throughout what has been a difficult year.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas. Stay Safe.

FACE MASKS - it is not the responsibility of the GP to issue an exemption letter to those individuals who feel unable to wear a face mask within a public setting. The Government guidance regarding exemptions suggests there will be no requirement for an individual to provide evidence of exemption.

Anyone attending the practice is now required to wear a face covering ie: a mask or scarf - if you attend the practice without a face covering you will not be granted access.

Following recent guidance to help stop the spread of Covid-19 (coronavirus) our online booking facility has been temporarily suspended and our 'free bleed' clinics will not be running. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

To reduce your chances of catching COVID-19 and reduce pressure on our Practice during this busy time all appointments will be carried out over the telephone and appropriate instructions will be given should the clinician need you to attend for a face-to-face consultation.   This will help minimise risk whilst continuing to ensure that people get the care and the advice that they need.

Welcome to The Fountain Medical Centre, this website has been designed to tell you about the practice and the services that we offer. Please read it carefully. We trust that you will find it helpful and informative.

We previously worked in a converted house on London Road, Newark, and moved here in October 1986. The old surgery was by a small public garden known as the Fountain Gardens.

The Fountain was a monument erected at the beginning of the century to Ethel Harrison who rescued a child from the Chesterfield canal but perished in the attempt. Many of our older patients referred to our premises as the "Fountain" and we have tried to preserve the link by incorporating a small fountain in the design.

The Practice now has a CCTV System in operation.
